There are a few scams going around on the internet today and a lot of people are falling for them without realizing until later what has actually happened. The scam includes people offering discount health cards that tell people they will save money due to the fact that they will be getting discounts when they visit the doctor, a hospital, buy prescribed medication from a pharmacy and many other health related solutions.

The discount health insurance cards are illegitimate because they are being sold as discount health insurance plans, when in fact they are actually just discount cards. The difference between the two is quite simple; discount cards offer discounts for medication that you have to pay for, but you still pay for visiting the doctor whereas discount health insurance plans cover the medical bills that would build up from all these medical needs.

Many people have stopped their current health plans and moved onto discount cards, which is the worrying part for most people as they did not have a firm grasp on the situation in the first instance. Also, many companies overstate their discounts and fees such as administrative fees may be included without prior knowledge, this will end up costing you a lot more in the long run, and you must be aware of this.
